Sophia Ritterling - Each item here, Sophia can name exactly who it was from, where, and why. I found it endearing as to how she is able to remember to who they eacb were from and how she holds these pretty close to her. They all come from family, friends, and other encounters that she holds closest.
Thomas Joseph Dignan V - His Nintendo DS is more of a hard drive than a gaming console. Here he holds photos of a friend he hasn’t had contact with since Elementary, as well as photos of his late grandparents. The SD card port is damaged so the photos can only live here.
Mary Collins - The golden ring is a family heirloom inherited from when her grandmother passed away. She loves the color turqoise and she also treasures this painting, a gift received that depicts The Cottage in Laguna Beach before the remodel, a location of one of her marriages. She loves Laguna Beach.
Mimi Poliner - The necklace here is a necklace that her father gave her when she was in Brazil, from when her family was escaping persecution in the 1940s. Despite this materail response, what she cherishes most are the stories that she holds onto and speaks of more than anything physical.
Lucas Aurelius Jimenez-Suselo - The Indonesian shirt was a gift that he holds onto as a means of remaining connected to his Indonesian roots. The emblem in the middle reminded me of the eagle and cactus imagery found in the Mexican flag. By this point he found a new appreication of his shirt after our meeting, since he is also of Mexican descent.
Phoebe Prentice - She holds onto her late childhood’s dog toy, one that was not destroyed by him. My take on the personality of her dog was like a uncle who teases you but loves you. He would scoff at her when she treid to be with him but would sulk in the corner if she came home smelling like other dogs.
Gail Rahn - This is the Oklahoma rock, a rock formation only found in Oklahoma and found nowhere else in the world, contained in this Japanese cricket box. It is something that she has held onto as it originates from her college studies. Her family seems her family deals with environmental science.
Claudia Sawaya - She provided me a variety of responses, with music CDs of Beethoven, she showed me photos she took in her trips to Egypt, she showed me her collection of camels. But above all, she cherishes these three frames of filled with photos of her family. The baby in the photo is Claudia herself.
King Michael Vergara - The Adventure Time toys serve as a container and reminder of his childhood self. The show has a special place in his heart for its story, characters, and whimsy that he wishes not to forget. They stand as a representation of that child self.
Maelynn Vu - In a similar sense to her partner, her reponse is also reflection of holding onto a part of herself in material form. This artist box with materials and different mediums is a reminder of her creative side that she wishes not to forget, a gift received to her by her aunt.
Vivonda Le Nghiem - Her family has had this big Pikachu plush from before she was born and she inherited it. It has survived surgeries as a means of maintenance performed by her mother to prevent mold from growing inside the stuffing. It is something she holds onto that matchesher love and joy of Pokemon.
Arantza Guerena - This response took no time when I approached her at first. In spite of eveyrhting that happens in her world, she can always count on Galax. Whenever she needs someone to be there he is always there for her. He is a bit socially akward but still a silly and loving little dog.
